Do not worry, like all of the products we feature, this is the most affordable roaster that met all of our quality standards and not a cheap knock off that will die on you during your first roast. The only real problem you may grow to have with the Nesco is that it only has an 18 quart capacity. That means you will not find a chicken that will not fit in it, but there is a good chance that, if you buy the biggest Thanksgiving Day turkey, that will not actually fit the Nesco. You can remove the cook well for cleaning and easy handling once the cooking is done.

The Hamilton Beach electric roaster is our favorite product for several reasons, the first of which being the fact that it is actually one of the most affordable ones on the market. It is not quite as cheap as the Nesco but it does have a 22 quart capacity which should be enough for even the biggest turkeys. We were somewhat disappointed by the fact that it does not have a self basting lid, but the truth is that, with an electric roaster there is a huge accumulation of vapor and basting is not that necessary. The Hamilton Beach roaster also comes with a lift out wire rack so you can very easily take the turkey or chicken from the roaster straight on to the serving plate.

It is a very good looking roaster, with a rack and enamel on steel roasting pan and it comes at a very reasonable price. However, the real reason we decided to feature it here is that it comes with 2 removable wood chip pockets that you can use to smoke any type of meet you would like. You will need to use it outside when smoking but we tried it out with a piece of salmon and were truly impressed by the results. Its biggest disadvantage is that it only has a 16 quart capacity, but, if you are a fan of smoked meat, you may want to cook 2 smaller turkeys just to have the Oster CKSTROSMK.
